babysitting, bowling, & thomas rhett

Fall break was this week and I enjoyed every minute of it! To kick off my weekend, I got to babysit the kids I got to nanny over the summer. They are growing up so much and are the cutest kiddos. We did a scavenger hunt, drew pictures, and watched a movie. It was so much fun to play with the three of them.

I also got to go bowling with my family. We all tried to bowl a different way and copy each other. We went backwards, through the legs, spun around, and even granny style. It was so much fun. We laughed a lot at all the different ideas people had, and also at all the dances that we did while waiting for our turn. I'm sure that everyone in the bowling alley thought we were crazy.

Saturday was the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Sydo and I met up with Jenna and Autumn for the Thomas Rhett concert. We bought floor tickets the first day they came out, and were so excited. This was the first time for us to be on the floor at a concert, and who better to watch than Midland, Brett Young, and Thomas Rhett! We went and got Chick-fil-A and took it to the arena. We sat outside and waited for about and hour and a half before the doors opened to try and get the best spot at the concert. It was the best idea we've ever had, and I don't regret it one bit.

I mean honestly, how could I be mad when we got this close?! We couldn't believe that we were right next to them. We all looked at each other in disbelief the whole night.

The concert was amazing. We screamed, we cried, and we touched all of them. One of the greatest things about concerts is all the friends you get to meet. I love that music brings people together and can make one night the best nights of our lives.

This weekend was one that I will always cherish. It felt so nice to be surrounded by family, friends, and even some strangers. I loved every minute of the time I spent with people I care about.

flag football & library adventures

This week has been crazy busy, in a weird way. I haven't had much that I've needed to get done, yet I struggled with feelings of inadequacy. I was having a really hard time staying focused and feeling productive. Despite these feelings, I felt grateful for Jen and Bella helping me get out of the house this week. We went to support our friends' intramural flag football games on Tuesday and Wednesday of this past week. We all cuddled up in blankets and had fun goofing off on the sidelines.

Towards the end of the week we all started to get a little crazy. We all got together at the library to do homework, but we ended up just laughing and distracting not just ourselves, but everyone else around us. Teanette brought us tons of snacks and we were dying when she pulls out Fruity Pebbles and milk for Adam. This was definitely one of the best nights in the library I've ever had.

On Friday, Bella and I treated ourselves to the Malt Shop for not spending money and surviving this week. We both needed the pick-me-up and it was so good to have time to chat with each other. This is exactly what we needed, and definitely a great reward for working hard this week.

And last night, we all had taco soup together as friends. Teanette's soup was SO good. Everyone helped a teeny bit, but she worked really hard on making it for everyone.

Despite all of the crazy ups & downs of this week, I'm so grateful for those moments where I could spend time with my friends and enjoy just being around them.

jazz game, guests, & conference weekend

This week has been one of the greatest weeks of my life! First off, we decided to all pitch in to get tickets to the Jazz Preseason Game. Even though we were in the nosebleeds, it was the best $11 I've ever spent! We had such a blast. Jared, Adam, and Everett got matching "Spiduh" shirts, that they loved. Jenna, Bella, Tarryn, and I all got matching Utah Jazz T-shirts for only $15. They say money can't buy friendship, but it sure as heck helps make some good memories! It also helps that the Jazz came back to beat the Raptors after a really messy first half.

On Thursday night, Sydney surprised me and came down to visit for the weekend. She didn't have school on Friday, so we were able to spend four whole days together! I hadn't seen her in over a month, and it was really good to just visit and enjoy having her here.

Another guest we had visit was Channing's dog Trig. He was so cute! We let him hang out with us for the day before Chan took him back home.

On Saturday, we got all of our friends together to eat breakfast and watch General Conference. Teanette made cinnamon rolls for everybody, and they were delicious! It was so fun to be all together for such an exciting and monumental conference.

That night we all got together as roommates to go to the Women's Session. We also picked up Emily to have her join us. She was in my stake back at home and is a freshman this year at Snow. It was so special to all be together and feel the spirit of womanhood. After the Women's Session, we quickly changed and went to watch the football game. It was freezing cold, and very rainy, but we watched and cheered the whole night.

Sunday was my last day with Syd, and I really was sad that she had to leave. So for our last adventure, Jen and I took Teanette and Syd on a Razor ride. We knew it would be chilly so we bundled up. But what we weren't expecting was for it to be snowing up the mountain! It was freezing but so worth it!

I can't imagine a better weekend! It was so fun having Syd come and visit. She was so fun and fit right in with everyone. I loved every minute of this week and I am so glad that I could have made so many great memories.
